What our Divemasters did next vol 3

Writer's picture: Kraken Diving Kraken Diving

Our PADI Divemaster Interns are a huge part of the team, and play a massive role in the enjoyment of our students. They come join us for 12 - 20 weeks of diving, learning new skills and exploring Orkney, so we thought we'd do a series of blog posts about how they found the experience and what they're doing now. All these posts will be original and non-edited, so any negatives they have will be left in (we'll just sulk in the corner as we read them)! This second one comes from Declan who joined us back in 2022!

"My name is Declan Fladstol I was a Kraken divemaster intern over the summer of 2022. Getting the opportunity to be an intern for Kraken Diving was an amazing experience for which I am extremely grateful. This internship opened my eyes to the Orkney Islands history and helped every aspect of my diving career leading to a hopeful career in the industry. I recently graduated from the University of Montana with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology and a concentration in Archaeology. My intentions after college are to hopefully return to Scotland and get my master’s in marine/maritime archaeology.

Currently I am diving as a pastime and enjoying every second of it. I have been able to get multiple dives all around Montana. I can also thank Kraken Dive for expanding my opportunities in education because if it wasn’t for them, I would not know about

the school that has the Masters program I am hoping to get accepted into. If you are interested in interning for Kraken Dive, I cannot recommend it enough they are amazing, extremely knowledgeable, just an all-round great group to work for."
